Controversial journalist and social commentator, Kemi Olunloyo, has alleged that the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been moved to northern Nigeria, contrary to official claims that they are still being held within the forests of the Old Oyo National Park.
In a statement shared on social media, Olunloyo said she had informed the public as early as June 21, 2026, that the victims had been relocated from their initial location.
According to her, activist, journalist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, made a similar claim on June 22 after his remand at Kuje Correctional Centre.
Olunloyo accused the Oyo State Government of misleading families and residents by maintaining that the abductees remain inside the thick forest of the Old Oyo National Park.
“The Oyo State Government is still saying they are inside the thick forest of Old Oyo National Park and deceiving the families of Oriire victims,” she alleged.
She further suggested that recent developments involving Sowore may be connected to information he disclosed regarding the whereabouts of the abducted schoolchildren, although she did not provide evidence to support the claim.
However, the Oyo State Government has continued to maintain that security agencies are actively pursuing the kidnappers and working towards the safe rescue of the victims. Authorities have yet to respond to Olunloyo’s latest claims.
As of the time of this report, there is no independent confirmation that the abducted pupils and teachers have been moved to northern Nigeria. Security agencies have also not issued any official statement corroborating the allegation.
The abduction of the schoolchildren and their teachers has remained a major source of concern across Oyo State, with families and residents anxiously awaiting their safe return.
