Members of the National Assembly from Oyo State on Wednesday demonstrated a strong show of support for Sarafadeen Alli as they accompanied him to obtain his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The federal lawmakers present at the exercise included Senator Yunus Akintunde, Honourable Remi Oseni, Honourable Olamiju Alao-Akala, Honourable Akin Alabi, Honourable Tajudeen Abisodun, and Honourable Akeem Adeyemi.
Their presence is being interpreted as a significant political endorsement, strengthening Alli’s position within the party and signaling a possible alignment among key federal stakeholders from the state.
In contrast, Adebayo Adelabu, another top aspirant for the APC ticket, did not personally appear for the process, as his personal assistant, Akande Ajiboye, reportedly collected the forms on his behalf.
The contrasting developments have intensified political conversations within the Oyo APC, with observers pointing to a potential shift in momentum as consultations and alignments ahead of the party’s primary election continue.
The situation is unfolding just a day before Adelabu’s anticipated official exit from his role as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a move expected to enable him fully concentrate on his gubernatorial ambition.
