The Oyo State government has established a committee to address the concerns of property owners affected by the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road project in Ibadan. The committee, inaugurated on Thursday, promises to look into issues around corridor and setback disputes with the aim of finding a lasting solution.
Led by representatives of affected communities, local government chairmen, and government officials, including Executive Adviser Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, the committee assures fairness and justice for all parties involved. Adebiyi stated, “We want to ensure government policies are properly implemented so everyone, especially affected residents, smiles at the end of the day.”
The move follows Governor Seyi Makinde’s engagement with residents last Wednesday, where he promised a committee to review their concerns and government plans for the 110km project. Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon Sikiru Sanda, thanked Makinde for keeping his word and assured residents of a resolution.
Representatives of Ibadan Mogajis and affected communities pledged cooperation, urging residents to remain calm and supportive. The committee includes members from the Ministries of Lands and Works, among others.
The government aims to balance development with the rights of property owners as the project progresses.
