The executive council and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan North East Local Government have been alleged of misappropriation of over N30 million funds meant for the 2023 general Election.
The executive council is led by Mr Azeez Ashimolowo Elewure and the leaders led by a former caretaker chairman, Prince Gbade Lana.
In a statement co-signed by Evang. Olu Akinwale (JP) and Hon Mutiu Arulogun who are the Ag. Chairman and Ag. Secretary of the stakeholders forum respectively, accused the executives and leaders of anti-party activities during the last general election.
The stakeholders on Wednesday, 7th February 2024 passed a ‘Vote of No Confidence’ on both the executives and the leaders for gross misconduct.
According to the stakeholders, those two organs in charge of party affairs have caused more than enough havoc which altered the golden opportunity the party had.
“From April 2023 till date, these two organs decided not to give detailed accounts of how much they spent they realized and Spent from funds received from philantropist within and outside our LG.
“They also engaged in anti-party activities during the Senate, Federal, State, and Re- run election by collecting ransom (in Dollar) from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party through one Kehinde Oloya.
“Under the watchful eyes of both organs in this Local Govt, Mrs Ashabi Olajide (LG Women leader) decided not to release all the party agents money belonging to WARD 03 IBNE LG.
“Immediately after the gubernatorial election, they made up their mind and decided to illegally remove the following party executives from their wards and local government for standing against their unfaithfulness and insincerity.”
The stakeholder forum thereby calls on the State Executive Council of the APC to set up a Steering Committee to replace the Ibadan North East Local Government Executives.
