One of the popular Ibadan Masquerades, Oloolu has clashed with the resident of the ancient City of Ibadan during his annual festival outing from around 6 pm till 6:20 pm on Tuesday.
This evening, according to our Correspondent, the Oloolu Masquerade Clashed with the Youths and occupants of the old household of the Late Olubadan, Late Saliu Adetunji of the Popo Iyemoja Compound.
As one witness recounted, “the Oloolu was on his way from Beere, passing through Fooko was peaceful, upon getting to popo iyemoja, there was a clash between the Oloolu followers and the Popo Iyemoja Compound youths.
“It’s rumoured that there has been beefing and serious crisis between these factions before the demise of the Olubadan”, but nothing can be done then, they came around today to revenge.
The Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Police has responded swiftly to the crisis to chase them away.
