Oyo State Governor, Engr. Makinde has told the civil servants in the state not to see the payment of 13-month salary as a favour but a benefit well deserved from their commonwealth.
Makinde said this at the 2024 Inter-Fairh Service programme held on Tuesday, 9th January 2024 at the state secretariat.
According to Makinde, money being used to pay the salaries comes from the government, so it doesn’t belong to him.
He applauded the civil servants for their overwhelming support and understanding while he also sought their continued cooperation.
“The workers should hold us accountable for our actions, but they should also understand that we can not get all things right.
“If there is anything good the past administration did right, we will continue it. So, call our attention to any lapses you see.
“I enjoy your cooperation, let’s continue to work together”.
