“We Lost a True Patriot”, Agbaoye Kola Karim Mourns Late Soun

The Agbaoye of Ibadan Land, Chief Orikolade Karim has mourned the exit of a first class monarch and paramount ruler of Ogbomosho kingdom, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, 95, on Sunday 12th, December 2021.

Chief Orikolade Karim described the monarch as a foremost industrialist and patriotic statesman whom he admired and also a credible ruler whose leadership led to birth of great development in Ogbomosho over a five decade period which included creation of additional four local government areas from Ogbomoso local government “Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Orire, Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa”, establishment of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,  Ogbomoso, Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, establishment of Federal Government College Ogbomoso, establishment of NTA station in Ogbomoso,  citing of banks, primary and secondary schools, police stations and industries, technical college etc.

He continued that Oba Oyewumi’s reign has brought robust development to Ogbomoso and environs, which is obvious with the fast growing population and commercial activities in the ancient town.

He concluded by commiserating with the government of Oyo state, the people of Ogbomosho and Oyo state in general while praying that God repose his beautiful soul in paradise.
