Supporters of the Senatorial candidate of the PDP for Oyo South, Mógaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe were among hundreds of party faithfuls who officially dumped opposition parties to join the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo Central Senatorial District, ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
The decampees were received at the party’s Senatorial Office in Moniya, Ibadan by the The Deputy Director General, Governor Seyi Makinde Re-election Campaign Organization, Honourable Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, State Secretary and Senatorial Chairman of the PDP, Alh Wasiu Adeleke, and Hon. Mufutau Olatunde Ogunremi
Party leaders took turns to assure the new members of justice and fairness amongst members of the ruling party and called on others who are yet to join to do so.
The Deputy Director General for Governor Seyi Makinde Re-election Campaign Organization, Hon. Ezekiel Temitope described the event as a ‘harvest’ of over 500 members and expressed delight that most of the decampees are former leaders, aspirants and local government officials of the opposition All Progressive Congress APC in the state. He charged them to bring their political weight to ensure victory for all the PDP Candidates come 2023 and beyond.
Supporters of Mógaji Tegbe, who were led by the State Coordinator of the Buhari New Media Centre, Hon Ọlálékan Ọlatunji, affirmed their loyalty to the party based on the directives given by Mógaji Tegbe for his supporters across the state to formalize their membership of the PDP. They assured party faithfuls of their willingness to support all efforts aimed at promoting the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates
Other decampees include the Coordinator of Akala Vanguard, Prince Adegboyega Adedotun; Hon. Oladokun Julius, former aide to the late former Governor of Oyo State; Prince Akiije, APC Akinyele Leader and many others
Other Leaders who joined to receive the decampees include the State Publicity Secretary, Engr. Akeem Olatunji; Senatorial Candidate for Oyo Central, Chief Bisi Ilaka; House of Representatives Candidates Hon. Mudashiru Kamil Akinlabi (Oyo Federal Constituency), Hon. Mojeed Mogbonjubola (Oluyole Federal Constituency), Hon. Busari Olayemi (Egbeda/Ona-ara Federal Constituency), Local Government party chairmen in Oyo Central, Party Leader’s and other stakeholders
