“This stadium is a standard one, it can host intercontinental matches, and this could really add to the economy growth of the state, after commissioning of this stadium, although, not the best in Nigeria definitely but it’ll be the second-best stadium in Nigeria as I speak,” Pinnick stated.
Reacting, Hon. Seun Fakorede said, “the work is in top gear and as I speak, it’s 85-87% into completion. So right now, things that are left is just mainly installation and fittings and other complementary facilities that are meant to be there. And by the special grace of God we are looking at the next two weeks for the commissioning of the main bowl.”
“One that is projected especially for economic reasons for the state and our sportmen. We don’t have to wait till all facilities are completed before we do the commissioning.”
“By the time we commission the main bowl, we are giving people, especially our footballers the them the dividend of enjoying such sports facilities. If we don’t do that, we won’t be able to open the place up to the people. We are going to do the commssioning of the whole project on or before the new year. The tennis court is also about 65% into completion,” he added.
Fakorede, however, restated that what Oyo people will have at the end of the construction would be up to international standard adding that he’s so fulfilled right now for the progressive on Sports and Youths activities in Oyo State.
