Saki West Council Secretary Sacked Over Association with Oriyomi, Accord Party

The Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Akinola, has approved the immediate removal of the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kolade Felix Ojo, from office.

The decision was conveyed in an official statement signed by the Chairman on Wednesday, describing the action as part of measures to reposition the council for improved efficiency, accountability, and effective service delivery.

However, credible sources within the local government revealed that Hon. Ojo’s removal was largely connected to his alleged association with Oriyomi Hamzat and the Accord Party. The former Secretary was accused of attending the Accord Party governorship flag-off in Ibadan, an action viewed as anti-party conduct, given his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The development reportedly generated tension within the local political structure, prompting the leadership to act swiftly.

While announcing the removal, Hon. Akinola appreciated Hon. Ojo for his contributions to the council during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavors. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and ensuring loyalty within the system.

The Chairman also hinted that further administrative directives would be communicated in due course, suggesting possible additional changes within the council.
