The House of Representatives candidate of Accord in Ibadan North West/South West Federal Constituency of Oyo state, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku has condemned the illegal killing of three during the peaceful turned bloody protests in Apata, Ibadan.
Speaking on the killing of two protesters and one Okada riders who met with their untimely death in the hands of trigger happy state security officers, he said, “different situations warrants different approaches, the Amotekun, Nigerian Police Force and other Joint Security Forces should have managed this situation better without allowing it to degenerate into revolts and rebellion”.
“Our Forces should be more professional in handling of uprising and protests and not all the time is to keep killing people when we are not in war zone” he continued.
He further calls on the leadership of the State government led by Governor Makinde to engage in a peaceful means of conflict resolution because if not, “this is a ticking time bomb that must be properly managed to avoid dangerous degeneration”.
He also appealed to the entire populace of Ibadan specifically the people of Apata/Odo ona and Oyo State at large to maintain calm and find alternative to non peaceful demonstrations.
