Amofin Beulah Adeoye, president of the Beulah Adeoye Foundation has commiserated with the lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency, Hon. Adebayo Adepoju over demise of his father, Pa Amos Ademola Adepoju.

Amofin Adeoye in his condolences message mourned the passing of distinguished academic, versatile administrator and former Rector of the Polytechnic Ibadan between 1981 and 1988.

Amofin Adeoye said late octogenarian was more than a parent; he described him as a mentor, a leader, and a guiding light to many within and beyond the walls of the academic environment and public service.

The legal icon lauded that tenure of Pa Adepoju as Rector was defined by vision, integrity, and a steadfast devotion to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence which gave birth creation of satellite campuses of Polytechnic Ibadan in Esa-Oke, Saki, Iree and Eruwa are now functioning as fully-fledged tertiary institutions. He stressed that generations of students across tertiary institutions, and community members beyond Igboora benefited from Pa Adepoju’s wisdom, humility, and fatherly guidance.

Amofin Adeoye described former INEC resident electoral commissioner for Nasarawa state as a man who epitomises principles of fairness, transparency and justice who left behind a legacy of credibility and respect in the conduct of elections. He added that late Asiwaju of Igbooraland will be remembered as a man who dedicated his life to the upliftment of education, the empowerment of youth, and the advancement of humanity.

Amofin Adeoye remarked that late Pa Adepoju instilled dedication to public service in the federal lawmaker, Hon. Adepoju which is evident in his performance and scorecard for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency.

Amofin Adeoye admitted that the physical presence of Pa Adepoju may be gone, but his spirit and contributions will continue to shine as a beacon for all. He prayed may God rest the soul of Pa Adepoju well and comfort the family.

There was pandemonium in the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Wednesday, as operatives of the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, trailed suspected armed robbers to the area.

The two-man gang, who engaged the police in a gun duel which lasted for minutes, were said to be serial robbers of bank customers in Ibadan.

Tribune Online gathered that one of the suspected robbers who had assorted charms on their bodies, was shot and killed in a gun duel while the other was arrested. The incident caused panic and apprehension in the area.

The Oke-Ogun-born legal icon described the appointment of Prof. Babayemi as pioneer Vice Chancellor of the university as a well deserved considering his track records as Animal Scientist and global scholar in animal production.

Amofin Adeoye described Prof. Babayemi, an accomplished academic whose inaugural lecture titled “The Wonders of Ruminants” further cement his specialist in animal production and management.

He said the establishment of FUNATO represents a beacon of hope and opportunity, particularly for young people eager to harness education as a tool for empowerment under stewardship of Prof. Babayemi with over 145 peer-reviewed articles published in reputable journals.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, has assured members of the CEO’s Club (Men of Honor) Association of his collaboration and advice, declaring that “.he will ensure we would be led in the part of Honor and responsibility.

A controversy has erupted over the alleged unlawful takeover of 200 acres of land belonging to Zee International Ltd, a prominent business entity, by the Oyo State Government.

According to a statement signed by Strict Attorneys, Solicitors to Zee International Ltd, the government has embarked on “clandestine maneuvers” to destroy the company’s title and facilitate the unlawful theft of its ancestral investment.

The statement alleges that the government, acting through its officials, particularly the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, has received huge sums of money from certain Indian interests for the purported “development” of the company’s property without its knowledge, consent, or authorization.

The statement released by Strict Attorneys read thus:

“We act as Solicitors to Zee International Ltd, the bona fide owner and possessor of 200 acres within the precincts now dubiously paraded as part of the so-called “Oluyole Free Trade Zone.” Our client has been in lawful ownership and uninterrupted possession of this land for several years, fortified by plenary and incontestable documentary evidence, and have maintained peaceable possession without disturbance from any quarters until the present acts of brazen impunity.

“It has now come to our attention that the Oyo State Government, acting through its officials, particularly the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, has embarked on clandestine maneuvers calculated to destroy our client’s title, falsify history, and facilitate the unlawful theft of our client’s ancestral investment. Even more alarming is the revelation, supported by credible intelligence, and evidenced by press release that the State Government has allegedly received huge sums of money from certain Indian interests for the purported “development” of our client’s property without their knowledge, consent, or authorization.

“We must state emphatically: they cannot give what they do not have. The grand ceremony recently staged and publicized—where Oyo State officials purportedly handed over 500 hectares to Universal FMCG Nigeria Unlimited—is nothing short of an exercise in futility. It is a classic attempt to transfer stolen goods under the guise of governance. No free trade zone, no industrial hub, no investor, foreign or local, can acquire peaceable possession of land that is already privately owned and protected under the Nigerian Constitution.

“Our client warns prospective buyers, developers, and financiers in the strongest possible terms: BEWARE. Any venture, transaction, or development embarked upon over our client’s land will be built on sinking sand and fraught with irreversible legal peril. We shall deploy the full arsenal of the law to punctuate this charade, expose the unconstitutionality of the government’s actions, and vindicate our client’s rights.

“History has taught us that governments come and go, but the consequences of injustice remain indelible. We urge the Oyo State Government to retrace its steps, abandon this path of impunity and illegality, and engage our client transparently. Otherwise, we are prepared to meet them in the courts of law, the courts of equity, and the court of public opinion, until justice is restored.”
