The Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Seun Fakorede has condemned in totality the invasion of Igangan at the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Igangan was on the early hours of Sunday, attacked by yet-to-be-identified gunmen who allegedly murdered over 20 persons, set buildings and properties a blazer.

Fakorede, who hails from Ibarapa described the brutal murder and invasion as a pathetic one while he calls on the National Security Agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

“It is most pathetic to read the news of the invasion of Igangan at the Ibarapa North Local Government Area by marauding criminal-minded elements which led to the brutal murder of some persons and the setting alight of properties.

“The unfortunate incident is highly condemnable and poses a serious threat to our collective existence as a people. I frown against the criminal activities of some persons aimed at raising tension in the State despite the efforts of the State government in ensuring that the security of lives and properties of everyone living in the State is guaranteed.

“While calling for calm, I join all well-meaning people in the State, who are bothered by this senseless killing to call on our National Security Agencies to set all apparatus on motion in ensuring that these elements are arrested and brought to book in order to serve as deterrence to others so as not to create the impression that some persons can get away with murder and arson amongst others” he said.
