Oyo Commissioner, Fakorede, US Consulate Induct CYFI Fellows in Lagos

The Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede has joined the US Consulate, Lagos and Ogun state to formally inducts the 2022 fellows of the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative, an Initiative of the United States Consulates in Nigeria.

Fakorede, who was joined by other dignitaries, diplomats and envoys during the induction said, “On the 23rd of July 2022, we announced the application for the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) of the United States Consulate to Oyo State residents and indigenes — about 2,500 applications were received, from which only 15 persons made the final shortlist”.

The program which was held on Wednesday, at the US Consulate, Lagos.

He Congratulated the new Fellows, and also extended appreciations to all collaborating partners, Access Bank, KAAF and others, who made this engagement a reality — Special thanks to our Host, the US Consular General, Will Stevens of the United States embassy in Nigeria.

During the visit, he had a robust conversation on the Nigeria Startup Bill, this panel was facilitated by Tunbosun Alake, Kelechi Oleka, Omoruyi Edoigiawerie and Victor.

He also welcomed the fellows, on behalf of the Oyo State Government and particularly His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, “I welcome the Fellows to a year-long learning experience”.
