A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and the Chairman of Nigeria Communication Commission, Professor Adeolu Akande has commended the decision of the stakeholders to resolve all congress-related issues at the ward level.
The gubernatorial hopeful described the decision as one that would restore members’ confidence in whatever leadership that emerge at the end of the congress.
OYOMIND.COM.NG recalls that the Oyo State APC held a serkeholder meeting on Monday, 5th July 2021 at Lafia Hotel, Apata, Ibadan.
According to him, the party once had a weak foundation which was a bane for sometimes and the resolution to go back to the ward is a clear evidence that the party is ready for real business.
“Our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) took a giant step in the bid to reclaim power in Oyo State when the stakeholders meeting on Monday resolved that members should return to their respective wards to elect new party executives.
“This is no doubt a bold step that will restore members’ confidence in whatever leadership emerges at the end of the congress. This is in the hope that all players play by the rule.
“The ward is the foundation of the party structure and when the foundation is weak, the structure will not endure. This has been the bane of the APC for sometime and the resounding applause that greeted the prayer for a return to the wards at the Stakeholders meeting was a clear evidence that the members are eager to reclaim control of the party.”
