Earlier today, the N5.3bn renovation of the Home stadium of the Shooting stars of Oyo state was commissioned after multi billion naira renovations.

However, in a surprising turn of events that has taken viewers and observers by surprise, the water-logged status of the newly remodelled Lekan Salami stadium has hindered the first 15 minutes of football in the international friendly match ongoing between the Shooting Star Sports Club and NK Tabor.

However, as the novelty game kicked off, the pool of water, logged in various parts, hindered the flow of the game.

The waterlogged status has raised questions and begin to draw attention from residents of the state over the quality of work done on the multi billion dollar project.

However, several individuals, Opposition has been questioning the refurbishment of the stadium as they took to social media to vent out their angers.

“The rains have exposed the lie that this much-vaunted ‘Remodelled Adamasingba Stadium’ is. The pitch looks like a pool; I pity the players. If in doubt, just tune to Channels TV,” Fisayo Soyombo wrote.

“A N5.3bn project without a pitch that can withstand the rains? It’s all a sham. What a shame,” he added.
