In the later hour of Friday, 3 November, 2023, an aircraft conveying the Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu to Ibadan from Abuja crash landed at Alakia Airport Ibadan.

The Hawker 800XP aircraft with tail identifier 5N-ANM and serial number 258286 is said to be operating illegally in Nigeria.

According to documents made available to OYOMIND, the aircraft has no permission to operate commercial charter flights as it is registered under a Permit for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF).

The PNCF is the permit given to private non-commercial aircraft, and it is cheaper and easier to obtain than a commercial Air Operator Certificate (AOC) because the NCAA rules for private aircraft operation are less stringent than those for commercial aircraft.
