Jogor center, Ibadan, the Congress venue for the stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has been attacked by suspected gunmen.
The gunmen stormed the venue very early on Saturday morning with sporadic gunshots which led to damage of several cars.
The PDP nationwide had slated today, 16th October, 2021 for the state congress.
The Oyo State chapter has been divided into two factions with one loyal to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde while the other is a faction comprising of the party stakeholders who identified themselves as the authentic party members.
OYOMIND gathered that the suspected gunmen were said to be loyal to the Oyo State Park Managers System (PMS) and they were armed with AK-47 rifles.
Governor Seyi Makinde led faction congress is scheduled to hold at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
