The Oyo State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has begun the process to impeach the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan.
This is coming days after the Olaniyan had resigned his membership from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to join All Progressives Congress, APC.
The motion for Deputy Governor’s impeachment was moved at the plenary sitting held today, 15th June, 2022 following a petition alleging Olaniyan of gross misconduct and abuse of office.
However, Olaniyan was given 7days ultimatum to respond to the petition before the house proceeds with her decision.
Rauf Olaniyan after joining APC has been seen with top officials of the party including the presidential flag bearer and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
