The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that by-elections will hold on Saturday, August 16, 2025, for Ibadan North Federal Constituency and other affected constituencies.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made this disclosure on Thursday during a consultative meeting with political parties in Abuja, The Punch reported.
The by-elections are necessitated by the need to fill vacant seats in the National and State Assemblies arising from resignation, death, or court annulments.
Notably, Hon. Musiliu Akinremi ‘Jagaban’ who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency (2019-2024) passed away on July 10, 2024.
