Traditional rites to honour Oba Salui Adetunji, one of the prominent king of Nigeria’s second-biggest ethnic group – will be held in Ibadan where the south-west monarch is to be buried, with thousands of people expected to attend his funeral.
With the recent announcement of the passing on of his imperial majesty, the olubadan of ibadanland, Oba Salui Adetunji, it has been observed and confirmed that the eleven local government chairmen from Ibadan with the council of chiefs in Ibadan has taken responsibility of the motorcade of the late monarch through and from the palace to its final resting place.
This was made known to the press by the public relations officer (ALGON) Hon. Yussuf Sahib Oladayo (Agba Egbe).
According to the ALGON PRO, he said it is necessary at this time to make sure the late monarch gets a befitting royal burial irrespective of the short timing, insist he was a father to all, not just in ibadanland but to all and sundry most, especially oyo state.
Agba Egbe, further stressed that the monarch will be deeply missed for his impact not just as a father, but his immense contribution towards national unity, and its development.
The monarch, who was 93-years-old, today joined his ancestors at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
He was crowned the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan following his coronation on March 4, 2016.
Before his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji was the Balogun of Ibadan land.
