Ibadan Poly Young Academia Hails Appointment of Dr Lasisi as Institution’s New Acting Rector

Progressive and Forward thinking Staff of The Polytechnic Ibadan under the umbrella of *THE YOUNG ACADEMIA* have commended the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Lasisi as the new Acting Rector of the institution by the Executive Governor who is the Visitor to the institution, Engr Seyi Makinde, FNSE.

Dr. Lasisi’s appointment was communicated through a statement signed by the state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Adelabu. He is to serve in an acting capacity for six months with the effectiveness from 25th March 2024 to 25th September 2024.

While reacting to Lasisi’s appointment, The Ibadan Poly Young Academia, through the coordinator, Mr. Adefowope Ramon “Tegar” and Relations officer, Ogbeni Adelabu Labzy Adéọlá commended Governor Makinde for appointing a qualified individual who isn’t just an outstanding academic, but also understands the Polytechnic system haven risen though the ranks in the institution from Assistant Lecturer to Chief Lecturer.

The young academia applauded the governor for basing his decision on merit, and not sentiments .

Dr. Lasisi’s appointment is well deserved. He is a committed academic with wide experience in applied sciences with special skills in Statistics for national development. He has served in various offices in the institution with sterling performances.

We believe Governor Makinde appointed Dr. Lasisi as the school’s acting rector based on his capacity to move the institution forward. His profile and records confirm his pedigree as a scholar who can stand tall in the academic community nationally and globally.

We are hopeful that the appointment of Dr. Lasisi would usher a new era of progress for The Polytechnic Ibadan and we urge stakeholders and members of the school community to join hands with the newly appointed acting rector to move the institution forward.
