Akin Akinwale, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and Youth Leader for Oyo Central Senatorial District, has expressed dismay over the party’s internal wrangling ahead of the forthcoming by-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat.
This is contained in one of the recent posts on his X account where he lamented that three aspirants – Umar Farouq Arisekola, Segun Olaleye (Radical Brother), and Wale Haastrup Olatunji are all laying claim to the party’s ticket, creating confusion within the party.
“This kind of internal confusion, especially for a seat we held before the unfortunate passing of our Rep, is very crazy,” Akinwale said.
He also drew attention to the opposition party, noting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has already settled on a young candidate who is likely to resonate with the youth population in Ibadan North.
“If we are not careful, PDP might win before 11am on Election Day,” Akinwale warned.
He concluded that he cannot predict the outcome of the election until the APC finalizes its candidate selection process.
