Ibadan-born lawyer, Wale Adeagbo AICMC, the Legal Adviser, Oyo State Youths and Students Movement has kicked against the position of the Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso over the banning of the use of Cars among students of the Institution.

Wale Adeagbo, who has been vocal over the plight of students in Oyo state in his release said, “It just came to my knowledge that the Management of the Ladoke Akintola University made a release which stipulated that vehicles owned by students of the University are banned from the Campus”.

He continued, “With due respect, this Release, as far as the stipulation and restriction on vehicles owned by students is concerned, is inconsiderate.

Every person, be it student or not has their right constitutionally guaranteed to own properties of which cars, vehicles are part of. Nowadays, cars are no longer fancies but means to ease the quotidian affairs of the owners”.

So, students who are using cars to ease their affairs, their sojourn on Campus should cease doing so? What of cases of emergencies and all? I feel, the Management should do better by qualifying that stipulation.

He further proposed to The Management to either qualify it or take it down from their Records by deleting same.
