St David’s Anglican Primary school, Kudeti, Ibadan was on Thursday, January 28, 2020, filled with dignitaries across the state, who came to launch a renovated 2Blocks of 16 classrooms donated by Hon. Iyiola Ibraheem.
Hon. Iyiola who doubles as the chairman of the Ibrahim Iyiola Foundation is an old student of the school who graduated in the year 1991.
In her welcome address, the acting headmistress of the school, Mrs F. A Ayodeji noted that academic activities gave slowed down due to the condition of the school structures. She added that the newly renovated structures have increased attendance in the school
In her words: “If a community is to improve education, economy, it needs more of people like Hon. Iyiola.” While she prayed that God continues to bless him, she urged her students to emulate his exemplary actions.
Also speaking, the Director of Oyo State SUBEB, Dr Nureni Aderemi, represented by the Head of School Service in Oyo State, Mr Bolaji Hassan, also congratulated the donor.
According to him, “Education for all is the responsibility of all.” He, however, we added that the ministry will facilitate quick disbursement of salaries for teachers, training as well as the provision of facilities to aid learning in the schools while urging the school to make good use and maintain the renovated structures.
The Donor himself, Hon. Iyiola Ibraheem, in his address speech, noted the achievements of his foundation, Iyiola Ibrahim Foundation (IIF), which he said was established in the year 2007. IIF, he said, have made tremendous achievements and has offered scholarship and support for over 50 widows.
In his words: “Since the inauguration, we have made tremendous strides. We have vigorously and
with bull-dog tenacity of the purpose pursued the objectives of human empowerment,
Small and medium scale business; financial assistance on education and provided
healthcare support to residents of Ibadan South East/ North East.
“In the area of human empowerment, we have helped/assisted not less than Fifteen (15)
persons in acquiring skills in different vocational businesses and supported not less than 50 widows in our community to sustain their livelihood. In the area of education,
we have given out scholarships and education support assistance to indigent students of our community.
“For the small and medium scale business grant, we have supported over 500 small and medium scale businesses in my constituency . In the area of Health care, which is very sensitive and considering what we are experiencing in the whole world, we have been able to support Ibadan South East/ North East Federal Constituency. with the renovation of Omiyale primary health care centre and continuously providing sufficient medical supplies for the benefit of our people.
“Most importantly, for the Covid19 pandemic, we have also Allowance Covid-19 relief materials to the resident of our Constituency and we pray that God almighty will take control worldwide.”
He thanked the school for allowing him to contribute his quota towards its development.
A NUT Chairman, Comr. Allowance,
in hiswantrk, appreciated the donor. He noted that the donation was the first of its but urged the donor to do more so as not to make it the last. He, however, promised support for the school as well as old students who want to give back to their schools while he prayed that God continues to enrich his pocket.
The chairman of an organization identified as “State School Basic Movement Community” Samuel Okewoye also showered encomiums of praise on the donor.
The event also features awards to deserving students of the school.
Meanwhile, Mrs Atilola, the class teacher who taught the donor in 1991 was also present and was awarded a tremendously.
