During an interview with Oyomind on Saturday, Mr. Kehinde Ogunniyi, the gubernatorial aspirant for the Young Progressives Party in the 2023 general election, spoke about his plans to govern Oyo state with fairness and justice. He stated that he had personally suffered and been through many hardships, so he understands where the shoe pinches for the people of Oyo state. He promised to be the best governor that the state has ever had.
Mr. Kehinde also emphasized the importance of youth engagement in politics, stating that it is essential for our society and can bring about positive changes in the socio-economic and socio-democratic structure of Oyo state. He further expressed his desire to take the mantle of leadership from corrupt and unempathetic leaders who have been depriving the people of Oyo state of their innocence, peace, economic security, and the right to good governance.
As an entrepreneur with his own source of income, Mr. Kehinde pledged not to use government money for his personal wealth, but rather for the benefit of Oyo state. He urged the youth in the state to support his ambition fully to facilitate more development in the state. He discussed his manifesto in various fields such as education, agriculture, health, culture, and tourism.
On tackling unemployment, Mr. Kehinde said that he had taken the time to interact with the people and align his vision for Oyo state with theirs. He assured the people of Oyo state that he shares similar objectives and vision with them and that with their unalloyed support and cooperation, he would tackle the issue of unemployment head-on.
