The Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Resort, Chief Dotun Sanusi has stated that it’s only God that can determine his political ambitions.
This was stated in a statement released by Sanusi in reaction to Governor Makinde’s position on who his successor would be.
Recall that Makinde, during the students’ legislative summit held at the University of Ibadan on Wednesday stated that he won’t support any candidate beyond age 52.
Ilaji Resort CEO, Sanusi said “It has come to my attention that my name has been repeatedly mentioned in a section of the media with the statement made by His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde regarding age limit for aspirants he would support as successor in 2027.
“In as much I owe the media in the highest esteem, I wish to clarify my position on this matter and address any misconceptions that may have arisen.
“First and foremost, I want to emphasize that I am not a card-carrying member of any political party at this time. Therefore, any assumptions linking me with political affiliations are premature and unfounded.
“While I have expressed support for candidates in the past, including Governor Seyi Makinde during the 2023 general elections, and Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu in previous elections, my actions were driven by a desire for the continued development and progress of our dear state and country, not by personal political ambitions.
“As a proud indigene of Oyo State, my foremost concern is the welfare and advancement of our people, regardless of party affiliations. I remain committed to contributing to the growth and prosperity of our state through meaningful initiatives and projects.
“I categorically reject any attempts to drag my name in any narratives that do not align with my principles and values.
“I am a man of integrity, guided by principles of honesty, fairness, and service to humanity.
“I urge those engaging in speculation and conjecture to refrain from associating my name with their agenda. Let us focus on constructive dialogue and collaborative efforts that will address the challenges facing our communities.
“Ultimately, I trust in the will of God to guide my path and determine my destiny. If it is His divine plan for me to serve in any capacity, I am confident that He will make it known in His own time.
“I appreciate the inquiries and concerns raised by well-meaning individuals, and I assure you that I will continue to uphold the values of integrity, transparency, and humility in his endeavors.”
