FIBSU Alumni Hold 2020 Reunion in Grand Style

The Federation of Ibadan Students Union (FIBSU) ALUMNI, a body that consists of former members of the only recognized Ibadan Students Association held their 2020 reunion in a grand style.

The event which runs for four days had in attendance bonafide indigenes of Ibadan who have graduated from various higher institutions of learning and those who have served in different capacities at various citadel of learning.

The kick-off event was the “Operation Clean Up Ibadan Exercise”, a sanitation outing that took place at the popular Oje Market, Temidire, and Saagun area of Ibadan on Thursday, 17th December 2020.

On Friday, a special Jummat service was held at Modina Ilim Mosque, Akinwumi street, Iyanna Agbala where they joined other Muslims faithful to appreciate Allah’s mercies and blessings for the year 2020. After the prayer service, they all moved to Sholanke Motherless Baby Home, Omolewa Steeet, Yemetu Ibadan for a Humanitarian visit where cash gifts and food items were donated.

The grand finale event was held on Sunday, 20th December 2020 at Bowers Tower, Oke Are, Ibadan

Earlier before that, members of the association visited Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osunkunle, Adeojo, Saw Mill, Ibadan for the thanksgiving ceremony.

Speaking at the Grand finale, the Chairman of the Fibsu Alumni association in person of Distinguish Salami Usman Abiodun commended the members for their sincere love for Ibadan, which is the reason why the association is still in existence.

He stated that this year’s event is to further engage the public on the activities of the association and to give back to the society as stated in the highlighted programme for the year.

The Chairman, FIBSU Alumni 2020 Reunion Committee, Distinguished Adio Afeez Ajibola appreciated members of the association and guests for coming through to have a successful event.

“This year has been rough and tough due to the pandemic that hits the world but we thank God for counting us among the living souls. The 2020 reunion ended today being the last day and I must confess that the contributions and support the committee have got from all angles was incredible.

“On behalf of the 2020 reunion committee, I sincerely thank you all for being there for us throughout the program. We are indeed grateful and my prayer is that next year will be more interesting for all of us. Thank you” He said.
