The Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has paid a condolence visit to Senator Teslim Folarin over the death of his wife.
The Oyo Central Senator lost his wife, Angela Nwaka Folarin to the cold hands of death on Friday, 28th January, 2022.
Speaking at the Oluyole residence of the former senate leader, Gbajabiamila described Angela as a woman of valour whose immense contributions to the life of her husband are unquantifiable.
According to him, Senator Folarin has been a colleague and good friend for a long time and it wouldn’t be ok to fly to Abuja without paying his condolence to the family and last respect to late Angela.
He said “I am here today with a very heavy heart on behalf of the entire 360 members of the house of representatives, myself as friend, colleague to Senator Folarin and his amiable wife whose wife came as a rude shock to every single person that I know, including my good self and my wife.
“As a speaker, I always fond to speak at every circumstance but in a circumstance like this, I am not happy to speak. We will mourn in silence but we will also rejoice in silence for the live of our great sister. Only God knows and I am sure that wherever Angela is today, she will be looking down smiling because she always wore that smile.
“I know for my brother and friend, this must be a very difficult time. When I spoke with him last week, I asked him ‘how are you handling this?’, when I got here today sitted with him, same question was asked because I know how close they both were, I know the role she played in his life, so I wonder how this man is going to deal with this loss but look at him today, even if he is grieving inside, you won’t see it, on the exterior you won’t see it.
“So I want to charge you all that as you pray for the soul of our departed sister, you must always remember him in your prayer. He has a mission ahead which I know the role she played in his life, if God had will, they would have achieved it together but God did not will. We must continue to prayer that whatever God’s will in his life, even without her, it will come to past and she will be happy wherever she is.
“I am on my way to Abuja but I would have failed as a brother, colleague, and speaker if I didn’t fly here to pay my condolences to distinguished senator Folarin and to pay my last respect to our sister Angela.
“May Almight Gof rest her soul, forgive her sin and grant her Aljannah Firdaus.”
While appreciating the condolence visit, Senator Folarin expressed that he was not surprised by the Speaker’s visit because of the cordial relationship that exist between them.
He further expressed that the death was shocking and a kind of thing he wouldn’t pray for his eney to experience because till the present time, he doesn’t not how to cope with the loss.
In his entourage are serving and former members of House of Representatives which include, Hon. Akin Alabi, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Hon. Abass Agboworin, Hon. Babajinmi Benson, Hon. Odebunmi Segun Bunvic, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Hon. George Akintola, Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, Hon. Olusunbo Olugbemi.
Others include, Asiwaju Folawiyo, Lanre Smart.
