The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede has vowed to provide adequate welfare needs for Corp Members deployed to Oyo State for this mandatory National service.
The Commissioner, who was present at the swearing in ceremony of the National Youth service Corps (NYSC) Batch A Stream 1 at the Oyo State Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin delivered his speech on behalf of his Principal, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
While addressing the Corp Members, Fakorede congratulated the Corp Members “for the successful completion of your degrees and Higher National Diploma Programmes which have qualified you to be enrolled in this Noble scheme”
He further emphasized on the Objective of the orientation exercise. Fakorede who is the Chairman, NYSC Oyo State Governing Board encouraged Corp Members to “equip themselves with leadership skills that will enable them to challenge of life. Avail yourselves to leadership training as well as entrepreneurship and skill acquisition training during the orientation exercise”.
He further reiterated his commitment to Corp Members’ welfares, “allowances are paid as when due and whatever the State can do within it’s capacity to assist in enhancing the welfare of Corp Members when in camp has also continued to receive attention”.
He further charges the Scheme “to further post Corp Members as stipulated by the Posting Policy of NYSC”.
