What started like ENDSARS/SWAT peaceful protest on Tuesday turned bloody In Ibadan, Oyo state Capital, following the reports of hoodlums hijacking the protests, harassing people, blocking roads and smashing cars.
According to reports, hundreds of protesters had converged at Challenge and Ibadan Toll Gate to continue with their peaceful protest of blocking entry points and streets in solidarity for their demands to be met.
Unfortunately, it was learnt that hoodlums suddenly took over and started attacking people at Ojoo and smashing the windscreens of cars parked along the roads.
Unconfirmed report has it that three people have been gunned down in Ojoo while the popular Alakara police station and a filling station are said to have been vanadalised.
At the time of filing this report, security agents and soldiers have since been deployed to troubled areas to restore sanity.
In the same vein, most private and public schools in the state did not open for academic activities on Tuesday morning.
Although the State Government has not made any official announcement for their closure, most private schools said the decision was necessitated by hardship students and pupils witnessed on account of the #EndSARS protest in major parts of the state on Monday.
Some public schools, who solely depend on the State Government directives opened with no academic activities
Areas like Olodo Garage, Iyana Church, Iwo Road axis as well as Ife-Ibadan Express Road, Egbeda, Toll Gate to Iwo Road axis were blocked as early as 7:30am with traffic gridlock being experienced by residents around Challenge, Apata, New Garage, 110, Omi Adio, Molete, Beere, Ojoo, Moniya, Ibadan-Oyo Express road.
The hoodlums were also seen collecting money from road users, especially commercial operators including buses, motorcycles and tricycles.
