As a concerned citizen of Nigeria, I express deep concern over the recent events in Niger and the threat they pose to democratic values in Africa. It is crucial for the African community to uphold the principles of democracy and prioritize peaceful resolutions to conflicts.

In solidarity with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), we must demonstrate unwavering commitment to preserving democracy in Africa. War should always be the last resort, and we should explore all diplomatic avenues to resolve this crisis and avoid the devastating consequences of conflict.

I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of ECOWAS, for his prompt and diplomatic response to the situation in Niger. The decision to send respected envoys, including General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, is commendable, and we support their mission as peace ambassadors to Niger Republic.

Peaceful dialogue and mediation are essential to resolving conflicts and maintaining regional stability. As a nation, we stand united with ECOWAS in their efforts to restore peace, democracy, and stability to our neighboring country, Niger.

Let us work together as Africans to support the envoy’s mission and pray for a swift and peaceful resolution in Niger. Through regional solidarity and cooperation, we can build a brighter future where democracy and diplomacy lead to progress and unity.

Long Live Africa!
