Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved a sum of Ten Million Naira for each Local Government Area as welfare package for the celebration of Eid-IL Kabir.
In a letter signed by the Director of Local Government Affairs, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, T.N Mustapha directed the Heads of Local Government Administration release the funds to cater for indigent’s Islamic Faithful within the councils.
According to Mustapha, the governor pleaded that the councils are expected to expend the fund for the purpose it is assigned for.
“I am directed to refer to the above subject and inform you that His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has graciously approved a sum of N10million for each LGA, as welfare packages for indigents Islamic faithful within your Council to enable them commemorate the forthcoming Ileya festival.
“I am to therefore convey approval to you to expend the fund in the intended purpose, please.
“Thank You” he said.
