A historic and joyous occasion unfolded on Sunday as Alhaja Chief Mrs Bolade Aderibigbe was officially coronated as the Iyalode Adeen of Yoruba, Edo, and Delta Land. The remarkable coronation commenced at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, Ibadan, and was led by Alh. AbdulGaniyu Agbotomokekere, the esteemed Chief Imam of Ibadan and the Grand Imam of Yoruba Land, alongside a league of imams representing different regions.
The coronation ceremony was steeped in tradition and cultural significance, signifying the ascension of Alhaja Chief Mrs Bolade Aderibigbe to a position of immense respect and authority within the Yoruba, Edo, and Delta communities. Dressed in resplendent regalia befitting her new title, she radiated grace and elegance as she embraced the responsibilities that come with the esteemed position.
Following the momentous coronation at the Central Mosque, the celebrations continued with a grand reception at the Daylan Event Centre. The venue was beautifully adorned in colors representing the vibrant diversity of the Yoruba, Edo, and Delta regions.
The event was graced by a host of dignitaries, all eager to show their support and pay homage to the new Iyalode Adeen. Notable among them was De Damak, the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba Land, who presented his heartfelt congratulations and good wishes to the newly crowned Iyalode.
Representing the esteemed Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oba Amidu Ajibade was in attendance, further adding to the regal ambiance of the occasion. Chief Mustangs Adebayo Oyero, former CCII President General, and Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Yetunde Onanuga, were also present, expressing their appreciation and extending their well-wishes to the Iyalode Adeen.
Prominent figures in the government and royalty were not left out of the festivities. Dr. Bayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, attended the event on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, and he conveyed the governor’s felicitations and support to the newly crowned Iyalode.
Among the esteemed guests were Alhaja Mutiyat Ladoja, the Wife of the former Governor, Babaloja Ibadan, Wk Abass, Oluwo of Iwo Land, Oba Abdurasheed Adewale Akanbi, Oba Dr. Saheed Olamilekan, Oba of Ire Land, and Oba Alayeluwa Alisin Adedemi, Alagura 1, amongst many others.
