Chief Imam of Ibadanland Appoints Alhaji Ibraheem Olayode Iyiola as Bashorun Musulumi of Ibadanland

 

Alhaji (Dr.) Ibraheem Olayode Iyiola has been appointed as the new Bashorun Musulumi of Ibadanland, following an official letter issued by the Grand Imam of Oyo State, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere.

The appointment, endorsed by the League of Imams and Alfas of Oyo State and the wider Ummah, recognizes Alhaji Iyiola’s longstanding commitment, service, and contributions to the growth of Islam and the wellbeing of the public.

According to the letter, the Ummah has appraised his dedication as exemplary, describing him as a “shining light of Islam and a public servant.”

The Grand Imam noted that the honour serves as an encouragement for further contributions to humanity and to Islam, a religion of peace. Alhaji Iyiola is required to confirm his acceptance and communicate a preferred date for his installation within one week of receiving the letter.

In his remarks, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere congratulated the appointee and prayed that Almighty Allah grants him the grace and excellence needed for the new office and responsibilities.

The Bashorun Musulumi title is one of the most respected positions within the Islamic hierarchy in Ibadanland, symbolizing leadership, guidance, and service to the Muslim community.
