Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde after running another test has tested negative to coronavirus.
Governor Makinde who took to his twitter handle to announce the result of the rerun test appreciated the people of Oyo state for their prayers and support throughout the trying period.
Oyomind.com.ng recalled that on Monday 30th March 2020 declared his first result to have come out positive which make him declare the former Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital, Prof. Temitope Alonge as the Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Taskforce.
Effective from the announcement of the second result which came out negative, Makinde will resume his responsibility ad the Head of the Task.
“I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.
“I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time. I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow.” He said.
