The presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a boost on Sunday as Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde Declares support for him.
Makinde, who was ably represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal when the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential candidate, Tinubu met with the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasonrati in Ondo State.
Lawal, while speaking at the meeting said “Even though, our political party differs, we are of the same lineage. On this note, the message I was told to deliver is that whatever the Yorubaland decides is what we support.
He further ended the short speech with a part of the OYO state anthem “Asiwaju ni wa Asiwaju ni wa…”
Makinde, alongside Governor Wike of Rivers State and a few others, have been at loggerheads with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and they have over time requested that the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu must resign for a southerner to take over.
