The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, from the party during its meeting held earlier today in Abuja.
The development comes just days after the controversial and factional National Convention staged in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, which deepened internal rifts within the opposition party.
Today’s expulsion was reportedly carried out by the NEC members loyal to former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, marking yet another twist in the ongoing power tussle within the PDP.
