Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has stated that Chief Bayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, lacks the political strength and capacity to take control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
Makinde, who made the remark while addressing journalists in a media chat, described Adelabu as “a political lightweight in Oyo politics,” claiming his influence is limited and cannot threaten the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
According to the governor, despite Adelabu’s federal appointment, he has failed to unite the APC or offer credible opposition in the state.
Makinde emphasized that the PDP remains solid and unshaken in Oyo, adding, “Asiwaju appointed Bayo Adelabu to hold Oyo APC and he thinks he can rally Oyo APC to challenge us, he is not ready for what’s ahead.”
