The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Dr. Zaccheaus Adedeji, has described the late governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, as a true statesman whose legacies will never be forgotten. He made this statement at the 7th Roundtable of Late Governor Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, held on Monday in Ibadan at the University of Ibadan.
Ajimobi, who passed away on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70 after a brief illness, was an exceptional statesman who made indelible marks in public service, according to Dr. Zaccheaus. He also described the late former governor as the architect of modern Oyo State, saying he left office with distinct legacies and achievements. “He came, he lived, he conquered the myth. He was a worthy leader,” Dr. Zaccheaus stated.
Dr. Zaccheaus also acknowledged that Ajimobi gave him the opportunity to serve in his cabinet. “Sadly, the vacuum created by the demise of the former governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, is clear to all,” Dr. Zaccheaus stated.
