Entrepreneurs in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State are in for a time of rewards, celebration and media visibility, as the award platform plans to ensure that business owners and entrepreneurs in Ibadan are seen and are projected to a global audience.
Speaking at a round table convergence with media practitioners, the convener of the award, Yetunde Agbanigo, who is also an entrepreneur, spoke about the need for this class of business builders to be celebrated in the State, as they are all oiling the economic wheels of Oyo State. She said “we actually took it upon ourselves to see to it that entrepreneurs in Ibadan are given such a platform to shine. Every other award platform have a mix of all the sectors and also personalities from all walks of life. But here, we are focusing majorly on personalities that have created sustainable businesses in Ibadan which have impacted majorly on the city’s economy”.
Also speaking at the parley, Ambassador Ayo George of Kijani Media Communications, a consultant on the project said, “the awards are to inspire, encourage and project these businesses, and when we started out, it was an important aspect of the project that on a regular basis after the ceremony, we would organize entrepreneurs boot camp and other networking and funding ideas. So the project goes beyond just the award plaques, it is a total package”. He concluded.
Adesanya Kayode, the Logistics Director said the award ceremony will be a breakfast meeting and networking event, and all the winners will be announced and presented at the ceremony. He said the event promises to be worth the time of every guest and awardee attending.
