The Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadan land and a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Oloye Abd-Waheed Adebayo Adelabu has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Maulud-Nabbiy.
This was made known through statement released to commemorate the remembrance of the birth of Prophet Muhammed enjoined Islamic faithfuls to hold on steadfastly to the tenets of Islam by continuing to pray for the progress and wellbeing of the country.
According to Adelabu, Prophet Muhammed remains a reference point in humility, love for the community and brotherliness, which he enjoined all adherents of Islam to emulate.
“The challenges before us as a nation, more than ever before, require that we rededicate ourselves to the unity of our country in order for us to be able to realise her full potentials.
“Our Prophet preached love, both for the man next to us and the ummah and it behoves us that we bring this to the fore as true followers of our Noble Prophet,” Adelabu charged.
He then called on Nigerians not to become despondent because of the challenges hindering the wheel of progress of the country, saying Nigeria, like those other countries that have passed through the same route before her will emerge a strong, indivisible and prosperous nation.
