The 2019 governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu on Thursday hosted Councillors across the Wards in Oyo state to break Ramadan fast.
Since the beginning of the fast over two weeks ago,the former deputy governor of CBN has made it a duty to be hosting different groups in the state to break the fast.
Adelabu used the event to commiserate with the body of Councillors over the death of five of their colleagues. He prayed to Allah to grant their souls eternal rest and promised to bring succour to the family of the deceased.
He commended the Councillors for their steadfastness and loyalty to the party, expressed hope that tomorrow’s Supreme Court judgement on the dissolution of elected council officials will favour APC.
An Islamic Scholar Sheik Ganiyu Akeem Adesina in his lecture at the programme prayed for a favourable supreme Court verdict, repose of the souls of the departed Councillors and also prayed to Allah to grant Chief Adelabu’s heart desire of governing Oyo state comes 2023.
The Cleric also enjoined the councillor to solely rely on God irrespective of any challenges confronting them
Also in his contribution, a younger brother of late governor Abiola Ajimobi, Senior Chief Wasiu Ajimobi commended Chief Bayo Adelabu for his love and commitment in promoting peace and uniting APC family in Oyo state.
Responding on behalf of the Councillors, Hon. Soji Adesokan from Akinyele local government thanked Chief Adelabu for his unflinching support and identifying with them at this crucial time.
He also described Chief Adelabu action as laudable and greater commitment towards reviving the lost glory of the party in the state
