Workers in the tertiary Institutions of Oyo state, comprising of the Ladoke Akintola University, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education etc. has lamented on the delay in the payment of monthly salaries.
Recall that, most salary and allowances in Oyo state were paid promptly on the 25th of every months since Governor Makinde made the promise, but as complained by a worker who claimed to be anonymous, “for the last two months now, Tertiary Institutions are no longer receiving salary on 25 again, infact, nobody can guarantee when you are going to see it”.
He furthered, “as I am speaking, none of tertiary Institutions in Oyo state has received any salary and we don’t know what actually caused it”.
Governor Makinde, who has been more focused on the improvement of the workers’ welfarism through different approaches he employed. Our sources further commended the Governor that, “although, we commend his excellence in this prompt payment of salary, but, we don’t know what went wrong”
This recent developments which can be attributed various economic crisis and setback the entire Nigeria is facing.
