Barely 48hours after, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde is yet to make any statement on the arrest of the members of the Oyo Park Management System by the Nigèria Security Operative at It’s Awure/Efon Junction, Ekiti State, en route to the venue of the PDP Primary election.
The PMS members, which include, Taofeek Rasheed a.k.a Eba, Fatai Ajagbe a.k.a Monjara, Suraju Adio a.k.a Ilupeju, Raji Akani a.k.a Sango, Kaseem Lamidi a.k.a Yaro, Mojeed a.k.a Gbolaga, Tope a.k.a Akala, Kaseem Omisande a.k.a Irumole, Kabiru a.k.a Particular, Rotimi a.k.a Obasanjo were arrested in an attempt to disrupt the primary election of the People’s Democratic Party.
According to a report by Sahara Reporter Exclusive, “these things in their hundreds went to Lagos to receive Dr. Abdul Azeez Adediran popularly called Jandor to the PDP in what they called Lagos4Lagos rally at Tafawa Balewa square in Lagos”
Now, the question emerged, Is Oyo state driving towards full of terror as Cities and towns in Oyo state were dreaded of attacks majorly from the defunct National Union of Road Transport Workers in Oyo state, victimization and assault are slowly creeping to the scene in Oyo State
Recall that, many had tagged the Oyo state Governor has an agent of harbouring thugs and sponsoring violence in the state. With increase in the rate of thugs and resurgent in the rate of state sponsored hooligans in the state, there is huge fear that Oyo state and it’s capital, Ibadan will soon be the hotspot of criminal activities in the South West.
Gains not far fetched of harbouring thugs under the guise of PMS included the role of the PMS Chairman, Mukaila Auxillary on the death of Abdul Rahman at Iwo Road as well as his refusal to prosecute Auxillary and disband the PMS.
Despite the role of various Interests Groups, such as Oyo Must Be Great Group, various Political Parties in a bid to get justice for the slain Compatriots, Makinde and His Government failed to bring justice to the affected.
On 17th February, 2020 Govenor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the park managers and members of Disciplinary committee, and the ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport is to oversee the the administration of the Motor Parks in the local governments across the state.
